Autumn Lamp

Good morning bloggers:

First off friends, thanks so much to all of you who were so sympathetic to my plight this past weeks regarding my broken glasses. Guess what??? I got NEW ones!! My prescription had to be changed too so having them break was rather a good thing I guess. Turns out it had been 3 years since my last exam and I really was going a wee bit blind. No excuses there now. The best part?? I no longer have to ask complete strangers what time my watch says anymore, lol. Why didn't I simply ask them what time it was you wonder?? I intentionally set my watch and clocks ahead about 10 minutes so that I'm not late for physical therapy appointments, chiropractor, etc. I have 3 appointments for these each week and have to take city bus to get there. That's why it was always strangers who had to read my watch. This way, I was being told the time I NEEDED to hear in order to make sure I was on time. Until 2 years ago, I was habitually late for everything! With my watch set 10 minutes fast, guess who isn't late anymore??

This week, at One Stitch At A Time, we have a challenge that fits in with the current time of year. It is #187 - Boo! (Autumn colours if you don't do Halloween). The sponsor of our main prize for this week is Creative Craftworld. They are generously giving 3 Promarkers to one winner who has used an image from the Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet Store. One entrant using a non-Stitchy Bear image will win a Gift Certificate for $3.00 to the Stitchy Bear Outlet Store. Please remember that if you are not using images from the Stitchy Bear Store, you can only enter the challenge a maximum of 3 times. When you do use our images, you can enter as many times as you want.

It was nice that we were given that option by Choccy, as I don't do Halloween cards at all. I have never gotten a Halloween card nor have I ever given one out. The dressing up in costumes and going trick-or-treating was always enough.
Autumn colours are so beautiful and the season is so short that I take advantage of every chance to work with them. This time, I have an autumn themed birthday card to share with you all.

In the Meadow We Can Build a Snowan

Good morning Blogland!

We have your favourite challenge starting today at One Stitch At A Time....#186 'Anything Goes'. We are offering the fabulous prize of a FULL Set of the images the DT used in Challenge #184 to one lucky participant using an image from the Stitchy Bear Store, in this week's challenge.

My card this week is very 'Clean & Simple' for 2 reasons. First of all, my patterned papers are digital designs from the same artist as my image and I just couldn't cover them up, they are far too pretty for that. Secondly, my glasses broke 3 times in the last 2 weeks, and I can't see a darn thing without them. Even the cereal in my bowl is blurry to the point of being a solid mass. Without further ado, here is this week's card:

Card Recipe
Image & all Patterned Papers: Reece's Scrap Pieces 'In the Meadow We Can Build a Snowman'
Medium: CTMH Water Colour Pencil Crayons with Blending Pen
Rhinestones: Dollarama

That is it from me for today. I hope you have enjoyed my card and I hope you get a chance to come out and join us this week.
Hugs, xo

On a Whimsy & A Siamese Birthday

Hello fabulous bloggers!
I'm starting this post with needing to let you all know that I have been a very bad blogger and a horrific DT member lately :( :( I have a few more cards to share with you all today; and these are cards that should have been posted on here a couple of weeks ago :( The first card, I had honestly thought I had posted on here, but was very upset to find out I hadn't done it at all. While there is no worthy excuse for this, the only thing I can think of is the fact that I honestly don't look at my actual blog too often. I typically log on to blogger right on the home page where it shows the list of all the blogs I am part of. If I have zero pending comments, I don't even click on my blog at all. With no pending comments, I assumed my cards just weren't 'up to snuff'.
I am going to have to change the way I am doing things, definitely!

Well, onto the cards I have to share with you. First one up is:

Geisha Birthday

Good Morning fellow bloggers!
It is Oct 5th as I am typing this and I am finally starting to feel a bit better, Yahoo! Last weekend, I had my grandchildren come for a sleepover; I don't know if this was coming on anyway, or if the lack of sleep that weekend weakened my immune system just enough for this to take hold but, they went home last Sunday evening, and within hours, I felt like I had been run over by a transport truck. My throat hurt so bad I hated to talk, head was pounding, back and neck were screaming in agony, it was not a good place to be at all. Things got worse as the week went on. My throat was so raw, I actually consumed a minimum of a FULL package of Halls Cough Drops every single day, except for today. Anyone who knows me is fully aware that I go nowhere without a beverage in my hand. A normal day for me sees me drinking a full pot of coffee, 90-100 ounces of plain water and 2-3 cans of Diet, Caffeine Free Pepsi, (I AM NOT EXAGERATING!) This past week, even with drinking my normal amounts of liquid, I could not get enough plain water into me. The Halls alone were not soothing my throat; it was horrible!

Well, enough about me; onward to what you have come here to read ;) It is new challenge day at One Stitch At A Time.....#184 - Use a Digi!! This can be a digi image, digi sentiment, digi papers, etc. Any digi item on your card qualifies; just be sure to let us know what your digi item is. I really hope you will come out to play with us this week :) We are offering the fabulous prize of a FULL Set of the images the DT used in Challenge #182 to one lucky participant using a digi from the Stitchy Bear Store, in this week's challenge. The full set is valued at about $20.00!! One entrant using a non-Stitchy Bear digi will win a Gift Certificate for $3.00 to the Stitchy Bear Outlet Store. The digital image on my card was chosen by one of my team mates.

Here is the card I made:
