Embossed Christmas

Good Afternoon!
Where is the time going?? This summer is just breezing by with one day blurring into the next. I thought summer was suppose to be relaxing.....apparently not. Hubby and I were away with our daughter and grand-children for a family reunion and I just can't seem to catch up again. We all had an awesome time, seeing family we haven't seen in quite awhile. Our son had to work, :( He wasn't able to get the time off as he used it all up when he got married last month in Michigan, U.S.A. A lot of my dear hubby's family hadn't seen our grand-children and Kasey totally loved meeting all of her cousins and having so many new children to play with. The final day of the Dampier Reunion was spent at the Waterfront and "Dampier's Landing" in Nipigon, Ontario. We had a gorgeous day for it and the kids really tired themselves out being in the fresh air and sunshine all day.
Tuesday was TOPS so that day was totally gone. Our veggie garden took off while we weren't looking, or rather the weeds did. I spent 2 hours in there on Wednesday and you wouldn't even know it. I have neglected the poor area so badly and I don't know if I will get ahead of the weeds again this summer. YIKES!!
Yesterday I had to watch my grand-daughter and grand-son while their mom worked, did her driving road test and got groceries. Today, I finally got to make a card and get back on my blog.

I have a new Christmas card to share with you today. It has a few different techniques on it this time and combines several challenges. There are actually 3 types of embossing on my card (hence the title, lol). Can you figure them out? I have also used ink to distress the edges, added ribbon and glittery scrolls at the bottom. I must admit, when I first saw the colour challenge for this week at 52 CCT, I was very skeptical. I had NO idea how I was going to pull this challenge off, but I think it turned out pretty decent.
Here is my card:

To make my card, I used the following supplies:
Card base & white cardstock - My Stash
Black cardstock -
Ribbon - Dollarama
Ink - Versa Mark and CTMH "Black", "Sky" & "Moonstruck"
Embossing Powder - CTMH "Clear Detail"
Stamp - Stampin' Up
Embossing Folder - Stampin' Up "Petals A Plenty"
Have you figured out the 3 embossing techniques yet? The white cardstock is dry embossed with an embossing folder, the sentiment is heat embossed onto white cardstock using clear embossing powder. The reason you can see the sentiment is because of the 3rd technique; emboss resist. To do this, you heat emboss your image/stamp with clear embossing powder, then sponge darker colours onto the paper and your image. You wipe the ink off the embossed image to make it show up. The clear embossing powder resists the ink colours. You can find a tutorial on how to do this HERE on the Split Coast Stampers blog.
I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Robyn's Fetish/IDIC - Christmas in July

Well friends, I am off to try and get another card done today. Take care and thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs xo
